Narsil and Sirannon are two open-source packages that Delali builds and documents on this site. Both names come from someone else's writing, so this page says whose work that is and what these projects have to do with it.
Where the names come from
Narsil and Sirannon take their names from J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth writing, in which Narsil is a sword and Sirannon is a stream near Moria. The names read well and are easy to remember, and they are project names and nothing else. These projects retell, quote, and reproduce none of Tolkien's stories.
No affiliation
These projects are independent. The Tolkien Estate, Middle-earth Enterprises, and Warner Bros neither endorse them nor have any connection to them. They use none of the imagery, logos, fonts, or artwork from Tolkien's books or the films made from them.
Open source and licence
Delali releases Narsil and Sirannon as open-source software under the Apache 2.0 licence, which lets you use, change, and share them on its terms. You'll find the source on GitHub, linked from each project's site.

If you hold rights that you believe these projects touch, or you find something here that needs correcting, open an issue on the GitHub repository for that project. Delali reads every issue and replies.
